Cho's Tae Kwon Do Wexford is a member of Action International Martial Arts Association (AIMAA). AIMAA was founded in 1980 to serve as a unifying body for all different styles of the martial arts. Over these past thirty years, AIMAA has remained progressive, incorporating new training techniques and teaching methods. AIMAA proudly grows on the foundations of the true martial art tenets and works toward the prosperity of its members. From our commitment to "no politics" to our scientific approaches on curriculum to our President and Founder who has gained popularity as a "living legend¨ of his art, you will quickly find what makes the AIMAA such a unique organization that stands out from any other.

 


Grandmaster

HEE IL CHO 9th DEGREE


Grandmaster Hee Il Cho, a true legend in the martial arts community, is one of the most respected martial artist of our time. Grandmaster Cho has been inducted to every major martial art Hall of Fame and has shared his 50 years of knowledge with thousands of people around the world. Grandmaster Cho has students journey from all parts of the world to train and study with him. From Ireland to India and all throughout the United States and Canada, martial arts students travel several times each year to enhance their skills as a martial artist. Grandmaster Cho has also instructed some of Hollywood's biggest stars as well as co-starred in several motion pictures himself.
"At age 71, Hee-il Cho is still going strong, teaching class six days a week in his Honolulu dojang. It's proof positive that he's dedicated his life to taekwondo—and precisely why Black Belt has named him its 2012 Man of the Year."

Grandmaster

PHILIP AMERIS 8th DEGREE

"Grandmaster Philip Ameris is Grandmaster Hee Il Cho's senior student. He holds the rank of 8th Degree and has over 40 years experince in the martial arts. He has won numerous national and international championships and was the USA team captain in 1988 at the TAGB World Championships. 

AIMAA Masters

Within AIMAA we are fortunate to have a variety of Masters to help us and turn to. In Ireland we have Master John Darcy the AIMAA European Director, Master Peter Byrne AIMAA Ireland Regional Director and Master Michael Fitzgerald, the newly appointed AIMAA Ireland Technical Director. In the UK reside the remaining two AIMAA Masters. Master John Kirkwood is the AIMAA Scotland Director and Master Amrit Kalcutt is the AIMAA England Director.

Master John Darcy
European Director

Master John Darcy has been training for the past 38 years in Tae Kwon Do. In 1995 Master Darcy introduced AIMAA to Ireland and since its introduction it has gone from from strength to strength. He has won national and international competitions.

Master Peter Byrne
Ireland Regional Director

Master Peter Byrne affectionately known as 'Demolition Man'. Highly regarded as one of the top self defense experts in Europe, he founded a Tae Kwon Do club in 1988 which affiliated to AIMAA in 1995.

Master Amrit Kalcutt
England Director

Master Amrit Kalcutt heads the West Midlands Schools of Tae Kwon Do (WMST) in England. Since its establishment, WMST has gone from strength to strength with well over 250 members training in clubs throughout Gloucestershire. Master Kalcutt has been a member since the late 1980's.

Master Michael Fitzgerald
Irish Technical Director

Master Michael Fitzgerald is the newest AIMAA Master, having tested in Washington D.C in July 2010. Master Fitzgerald has long been a pillar within AIMAA and AIMAA Ireland. He is a qualified International Instructor, and AIMAA World Champion in Team Pattern as well as Silver Medalist in Individual Patterns.
